I have been teaching guitar making ("lutherie") since I began teaching on the guitar making class at London Metropolitan University in early 2015. Now I also teach privately from my workshop in Bristol.

I enjoy guiding students through the process of making a guitar from scratch right up until the finished instrument. I believe this is one of the most rewarding experiences anyone can have. To see several pieces of roughly hewn wood slowly take shape into a beautiful instrument is almost magical!

Lesson are £40 per hour (minimum 2 hour sessions) payable via Visa, MasterCard, Amex, PayPal, BACS transfer, cheque or cash. Also available is an 'Introductory Course' which consists of eight hours of lessons covering tool sharpening, planing, jointing, basic neck construction and more. No previous woodwork experience is necessary. Available at a discounted rate of £280. Also willing to consider up to two students at a time, at a discounted rate.

Students have access to my own timber store for their instrument, or alternatively may wish to obtain their own materials. Please see the materials costs sheet for some of my prices.

I teach on weekdays, and flexible on timings to suit your requirements. If you would like to book a lesson please enquire via email or telephone.
