Gypsy Jazz Sassafras

'Sassafras' was a project to build a short scale length gypsy jazz D-hole guitar with 12 frets to the body. I wanted to bring together this very traditional and early Selmer guitar design with unusual tonewoods and bespoke designs. In this case, Australian timber was used (black sassafras and snakewood) and a striped maple and mahogany pattern on the headstock. The result is a compact and extra comfortable gypsy jazz guitar with a unique sweet tonal range.
